Empower your English language learning with Mentor
We’ve supported international students on their journey to university for over 50 years. We know how challenging it can be to learn a new language.
In 2024, we launched our ground breaking AI-powered speaking support tool, Mentor AI.
Developed by the UNSW College team, this revolutionary learning tool listens to a recording of your voice and then coaches you on:
- Grammar
- Vocabulary
- Pronunciation
- Fluency
We are proud of this new solution that is designed to enhance your communication skills and will transform the way you learn to speak English.
Supportive events and clubs
Social events and student clubs are a great way to get to know other students and improve your English and communication skills.
Our recent Aussie Slang Workshop was a fun way to introduce international students to some of Australia’s more ‘unique’ language. Watch our Instagram reels video for highlights.
Two of our many popular student clubs are highly social, while also supporting language and study skills.
Conversation Club
A fantastic way to practice your English-speaking skills with other students, including native English speakers, is the Conversation Club.
This group meets online via Zoom and is focused on friendly fun, with casual conversations about a range of topics. It’s free to register for UNSW College students.
Taking place weekly for an hour, it’s a short time commitment that can easily fit into your class and study schedule and there’s no obligation for you to attend every week, making it very flexible.
Study Club
At UNSW College, we don’t just prepare you for academic success, we also enrich your social life. Embracing diversity, we organise cultural integration events, field trips, and volunteering opportunities for students. These activities are here to encourage you to enhance your communication, teamwork and adaptability skills – ensuring a well-rounded learning experience that prepares you for success in any professional setting.
By starting our programs before university, you not only establish a solid academic and social foundation but also gain the confidence to transition smoothly to university life.
